Dr. Oren Gall is a trailblazer in engineering education and innovation, merging his passion for teaching with entrepreneurial ingenuity. As an Associate Teaching Professor at the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Penn State University, Oren Gall instructs critical courses such as Digital Design: Theory and Practice (CMPEN 270), Senior Design (CMPEN 482W), and Biomedical Imaging (BME 406). Renowned for his engaging teaching methods, he consistently earns high evaluations, with scores ranging between 4 and 5 out of 5, and is celebrated by students for his ability to make complex concepts accessible and practical.

In addition to his academic contributions, Oren Gall has founded OZG Systems Engineering, LLC, a company at the forefront of revolutionizing engineering education. The company developed the Digital Evaluation Board (DEB), an innovative tool that empowers students to experiment with circuit design anytime, anywhere. The DEB is a portable, self-contained device that reduces the reliance on expensive lab equipment, fostering a hands-on approach to learning digital circuit design. By allowing students to tinker with circuits beyond traditional lab settings, the DEB aligns with instructors’ goals to bridge the gap between theory and practice while enhancing the educational experience with a fun and engaging tool.

Oren Gall’s entrepreneurial pursuits extend beyond engineering education. He has also founded multiple real estate companies, showcasing his versatility and acumen as a business leader. These ventures reflect his ability to identify opportunities and develop solutions that address real-world needs.

As a licensed professional engineer (PE), Oren Gall is committed to advancing the engineering profession. He serves as the State Director for the Central Region of the Pennsylvania Society of Professional Engineers (PSPE). He advises the Penn State Student Chapter of PSPE, which he co-founded with students in 2017. His leadership in the field is further demonstrated by his selection for the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE) Emerging Leaders Program in 2020–2021, where he collaborated with top professionals to tackle contemporary engineering challenges.

Oren Gall’s technical expertise spans circuit design, digital design, power electronics, nanofabrication, and programming. His academic journey began at Rutgers University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering with high honors and a minor in Chemistry. Oren Gall later obtained his Master’s and Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Purdue University. His doctoral research focused on the power management of miniature implantable device systems, underscoring his commitment to advancing biomedical technologies.

Before his entrepreneurial endeavors, Oren Gall contributed to groundbreaking research as a Postdoctoral Researcher and Lithography Engineer at the Materials Research Institute at Penn State. His work in electron beam lithography, deep reactive ion etching, and nanowire fabrication resulted in a publication in the Journal of Astronomical Instrumentation, highlighting his contributions to nanotechnology and integrated circuit design.

Oren Gall’s achievements extend beyond his professional life. He enjoys spending time with his family, attending car shows, and competing in powerlifting meets, reflecting a balanced and dynamic lifestyle.
